What type of clothing should I bring?
It depends on the time of year that you travel. Most of the time summer clothing is appropriate. Be sure to include bathing suits, shorts, long pants/slacks, sweater, light weight jacket and a dress-up outfit for evening dinner in the dress-up restaurant at the resort or in town. Light rain gear or an umbrella sometimes can come in handy. You may get ideas for packing for tropical vacations by checking out our link to TravelSmith which also has sporty, non-wrinkling clothing available especially for travelers.

Should I exchange US dollars into pesos before I arrive in Mexico?
No, it is not necessary to exchange all your vacation $$$ into pesos before you arrive in Mexico. We suggest that you pay close attention to the exchange rate and exchange your $$$ as you spend. We also suggest that you have an exchange rate guide sheet. Exchange rates are generally most favorable at banks. Hotels provide convenient exchange services but at a slightly higher cost. You can print out a current rate-of-exchange chart at www.oanda.com.

Once we arrive in Mexico, how do we get to our resort?
Once your vacation reservations are confirmed, round-trip airport-resort-airport transfers will be arranged by you with Palace Resorts, giving arrival flight numbers and reservation numbers to their home office. We can help you with these arrangements as well.
Once you arrive at the airport, claim your luggage and go through customs, there will be transportation representatives waiting for you outside the airport and you can kick back and “Don’t worry, be happy!” for the duration of your vacation.
Chaza travel provides this service for Palace Resorts in Cancun to resorts on “the downtown strip”, Moon Palace and to Palace Resorts on the Mexican Riviera. Transfers are also provided in Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta.

What happens if my luggage is lost or stolen while I am on vacation?
Notify the concierge if the loss occurs at your resort or the luggage office at the airport if your luggage does not arrive with you.Remember to carry prescriptions, extra eyeglasses or eyeglasses prescription, passports and valuables with you in your carry-on luggage or purse. A lightweight change of warm weather resort clothing in your carry-on can save the day if your luggage does not arrive with you. Lastly, travel insurance will cover $$$ sums that are above the meager amounts covered by the airlines in case of permanent loss of your luggage
